Where did March go?

11 Apr

I am sorry for being delinquent in my postings. Somehow three weeks have disappeared from my life. Once in a while my other life takes control of my writing life. So, it’s time to wrestle control back and get to the important things in life.

There was some good news since I last visited with you. I have started going to a different writer’s group. It’s very well established with serious writers in my genre. I’m still getting comfortable with the new surroundings so I have made no submissions for critique yet. Though, I will be interested to hear what this group has to say. The other writer’s submissions have been keeping me busy with reading. I’ve also been reading some books by local authors.

With stabilization returning to my world, more fun posts will be forthcoming. We’ll start with something on back stories and there will most likely be a MAVEN update. Another post will discuss game apps and the time sink (Distraction) they provide the unwitting writer.

The snow is melting and the temps are balmy (40 degrees). Spring is in the air. Whoo Hoo!

I feel the same about March. It just blew through and I couldn’t keep up with it. Good luck with your new writing group. That sounds exciting!

Thanks. I’ve never had a month fly by like this past one. It’s a little scary.

Great news about the writing group. I have joined a great writing group recently. They are warm and supportive, primarily getting people at all levels to just get started writing something. Several are published, but some have just begun. We have been working 500 words off of prompts. We read them when we meet. There are plenty to offer reviews and/or critique on our more personal work.Good exercise.

Being part of a good group is almost a must, I think. Getting ‘immediate’ feedback on ideas and/or WIP is really helpful.

I went back to an old writing group a few weeks ago. We had to ‘disband’ temporarily due to Life conflicts. I’m enjoying the dialogue and interactions from going to a group in person as opposed to chatting with someone via email. I hope you continue to get positive results from your group.

BTW, did you get my message? I contacted you via your ‘contact me’ link on your blog.

Good to hear about your group. I did finally get around to personal email. I responded though its not what you wanted to hear I’m afraid.

This year has absolutely flown by, so far! They seem to get faster and faster these days…

Real life is good & I guess forces a balance on writing that would otherwise devour all time. (Actually, that makes ‘writing’ sound like some kind of Einsteinian physics-eating monster… 🙂 )

Of course writing’s also good – all the best for your new writing group.

Thanks, matt. 2014 started off great and then mid-March it’s just been one thing after another. Hopefully, things will get back to something close to normal. Fingers crossed

Here’s hoping we’re through the worst of it.

I know what you mean about the time flying. I don’t know where this year has gone so far. Good luck with the new group and I hope the snow all goes soon!
